Present position: Professor in Ice mechanics at NTNU, Trondheim, Norway and Adjunct Professor, UNIS

Degrees: MSc (1993) and PhD (2000) from NTNU


Work experience:

Scientific assistant at Department of Applied Mechanics, NTNU 1994-1997.

Associate Professor in Arctic Technology at the University Centre on Svalbard (UNIS) 2001-2006.


Present research activities:

Measurements and simulations of sea ice in relation to ice action on structures. Mostly with ice ridges and on basic properties of sea ice, with the use of a combination of in-situ field investigations, laboratory work and numerical analyses.


Membership in academic and professional committees:

The international committee for Port and Ocean Engineering under Arctic conditions (POAC.)

The Ice committee of the International Association for Hydraulic Research (IAHR).
