The Centre for High North Logistics (CHNL) was initiated by Tschudi Shipping Company AS and Det Norske Veritas, in collaboration with the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Centre is organized as an international non-profit foundation. The CHNL vision is to be the preferred knowledge network for creating and developing efficient and sustainable logistics solutions for the High North through practically oriented research projects in interaction between businesses, academic institutions, organizations and public authorities. The CHNL aims to be the international gateway to relevant knowledge about logistics in the High North. The Centre was launched as part of the "Global Maritime Knowledge Hub" initiative. The CHNL was launched on November 26th. 2008 by Jonas Gahr Støre, the Norwegian Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Felix H. Tschudi, Chairman of Tschudi Shipping Company AS. The Foundation was established on May 27th. 2009.
